Growing Up

Just outside the apartment, the three boys were sitting on a bench, practicing to be grownups. In a country where the majority of the men are alcoholics, physical abuse in the home is rampant, and poverty is the norm, this is a difficult task.

They laughed expansively and joked with us and tried to hide their cigarettes when I pulled the camera out.
