Real Men (and Women)

The race started on Sunday. Single-handed around the world with no stops as fast as you can sail. They should be bringing it home around late February. Then, I expect, they will sleep until May.

Here's the course: Start in France, Cape of Good Hope to port (to the left), Cape Leeuwin in southern Australia to port, Cape Horn to port, back home to France. Sounds simple, right?

We are sad to announce that the Ambrosia-Reluctant will not be participating in the Vendee Globe race this year. She would have but our race application got returned because of insufficient postage.

We are planning to console ourselves by sailing laps around the 1st green buoy in the San Pedro Harbor every now and then. It's not the same, we admit, but there is something strangely satisfying about barking at sleeping seals.
